Kelsi and her husband, Ryan

In 2018 I started my floral business. Before that I was solely working as a dental hygienist for over 10 years. While I have always loved working with my hands, I constantly look for creative outlets. I enjoy everything from painting, drawing, gardening, and constantly redecorating my house. I did my first wedding florals for my brother and sister in law, who were getting married in my parents barn. I absolutely fell in love with floral design. Then I did a friends wedding in 2017. This was my first large production at an actual venue, The White Ranch. I had never worked so hard in my life yet enjoyed every minute of it. A few months later I got a call from one of the bride’s friends asking if I would do her wedding because she loved what I had done. I quickly agreed and a few short months later I got another message from someone who did not know me personally but wanted me to do their wedding. That’s when it hit me. I am really good at this. It’s a great creative outlet for me and people who I have never met are asking me to do flowers for their weddings. I have been wanting to transition out of the dental field and I just found my next career. So, Hidden Forest Design was born!

COMING UP WITH THE NAME………

Naming my business took me a little while. I knew I didn’t want to use my last name since it is difficult to pronounce. One day when I was driving home I turned onto my lovely dirt road, Hidden Forest Way. It clicked. It’s where I live, where I love, where I feel at peace. It is my home and my heart. That’s all there is to it!

One of the first things I did when we moved into our home was paint this sign. We live a mile in on a dirt road. Its not for everybody, but for me and my husband, it was meant for us. Home should feel like your own sanctuary and mine certainly is.
